About This Year's Presentation

Writeup as featured in the 1946 edition of the Official New Year’s Day Program

The Quaker City Band organized in 1920, reorganized in 1930, won first prize in 1935, 1940, '1944 and 1945. Band will consist of seventy-five men. Costumes will be a glorified military one, the trousers will be of gold and the coat of white satin, with a gold strap across the chest, ad gold on shoulders. The cape will consist of white satin with cerise background or lining. The cape will carry a shoulder piece carrying 26 white plumes. The band will be led by the colors carried by Adgate, James and Powers, followed by our Captain Raymond Endriss in a surprise creation, and our Musical Director John Mayer.
